Youth Wrestling Benefits & Values

Wrestling is a great sport for kids, not only because it inspires competition but also because it instills important life values. Those who participate in wrestling, boxing, martial arts, or other combat sports tend to have higher self-esteem levels than their peers. When young athletes feel good about themselves, they’re less likely to seek validation from others by bullying them. Combat sports are also great for building teamwork skills—the relationships formed on wrestling mats and martial arts floors go beyond just sparring partners and classmates; there’s a real sense of community among those who share these interests.
